It’s been quite a summer. How was yours? I took a road trip with my husband and drove across the country. It took seven days. Every night, we slept in a different state, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California, crossing the vast Sonoran and Mojave deserts in late JULY!!! It was crazy hot. We checked it off our bucket list.
I finished the Bob Dylan story when the media announced someone accused him of child abuse and sued him. Fans find it suspicious because it was filed in New York before the “lookback window” closed under New York State’s Child Victims Act, and the alleged location and time frame conflict with his tour dates. The legislation “ensures those who abuse children are held accountable criminally and civilly and that survivors of childhood sexual abuse have a path to justice.” The filing deadline for the legislation, which allowed alleged victims to present claims “regardless of when or how long ago the alleged abuse occurred,” originally was Aug. 14, 2020, but was extended first to Jan. 14, 2021, and then to Aug. 14, 2021, to accommodate pandemic restrictions.
