Sin With Me Review and Giveaway

#sogoodicouldnotputitdown #icried #ismiled #ihopedfortheirhappiness The book took me a few days to collect my thoughts. Two lost and broken souls met and wordlessly fed off each other’s needs. Their connection was palpable. Maddie just couldn’t get a break. Every time she made a step forward to get out of the financial and emotional pit she was in, something dragged her back down. Tyler just existed with no purpose other than trying to get through another day, battling through a fog of prescription drugs and alcohol. The first time they met, a sliver of hope cut through their fog. Maddie did something for him she never did for anyone else. She…

White Knight by CD REISS Review

4.5 Stars #secondchance #tendermoments #trueloveneverdies #artistrywithwords If you’ve read King of Code, you’ll remember Harper. She had a sister, Catherine, the quirky spinster-do-gooder. White Knight is her love story. It was a fusion of all the good parts of a second chance romance and The Notebook. Chris returned home to bury his pet, Lancelot. He hadn’t seen Catherine for thirteen years. He wasn’t going to waste the opportunity to see her now. The years hadn’t been kind to the secret childhood sweethearts. Chris left to get an education, and she stayed behind due to tragic circumstances. It didn’t have to be that way. Both relive the hurt and mourn the…

Sin With Me by Huss McClain

#sogoodicouldnotputitdown #icried #ismiled #ihopedfortheirhappiness I just loved it. I got caught *feeling* the story more than *thinking* the story. The book took me a few days to collect my thoughts. Two lost and broken souls met and wordlessly fed off each other’s needs. Their connection was palpable. Maddie just couldn’t get a break. Every time she made a step forward to get out of the financial and emotional pit she was in, something dragged her back down. WHO IS BLUE ~ A SNEAK PEEK

Devyn Foster looked out the window lazily sipping her latte.  The abstract paintings, chosen by the designer, were the only source of color on the neutral walls.  No expense was spared for the luxurious office because this was where she met with clients. “V, hold my calls.  I’m taking a lunch break.” Instantly, she regretted sounding a little bossy. Devyn’s mind wandered back to the disappointment of the past weekend, the lost opportunity of him.  His brooding eyes glinted her way when a barfly sidled up to her at and put his hand on her ass as if he owned it.  Maybe, she shouldn’t have shamed the idiot so loudly and…

    Review BLAI2E: Part 2 – Anita Gray

There are only a handful of characters that I’d cry for, Blaire is one of them. In Blaire, Anita Gray wrote a compelling character. In Part 1, Blaire was an innocent, robotic-like, trained-killer.  She seemed a shell-shocked, Stockholm-syndrome survivor, raised emotionally stunted. When she was treated with kindness and regard by Charlie, she began to feel emotion, and that’s when her pain started.  Her background is mysterious and had nefarious beginnings. She has no memories. The book ended on a cliffhanger. My review of Part 1 here.   In Part 2, Not only does Blaire wake up in physical pain, then the ravages of emotional distress eat her up alive. Blaire made…

    Enthrall Climax by Vanessa Fewings

Damsels in distress, badass bitches, anti-hero, and bi-on-the-side, the hero saves the day 5 Stars!!!  Climax, the final installment of Enthrall was an exciting read. It had a very satisfying ending to a fabulous series that I have read at least twice. Our star-crossed lovers had to avert booby traps and dodge monkey-wrenches. There were betrayals and misplaced concerns. I practically flew through the book. Just when I thought some hurdles resolved, more popped up. The odds were against the couple reaching the altar. At one critical point, their plight reminded me of an unwinnable wack-a-mole game. The cast spanned three continents. There were damsels in distress and bad-news-bitches, an…

    Review: CJ Thomas Black Obsession

Black Obsession by C.J. Thomas My rating: 4 of 5 stars I awaited CJ’s third book in the Kelly Black Series, with anticipation, the first two got me hooked, and Obsession didn’t disappoint. The things I like about CJ’s writing are characters; she makes you care about them; the stories have good suspense and romance, and she’s good at cliffhangers. Obsession includes the usual suspects, Kendra, Madam, Kendra’s friend/roommate Alex, and of course, the prime suspect in a murder case, Nash Brooks. At the end of the last book, Kelly was arrested for assault and Kendra was beside herself. He was released, though he wasn’t so concerned about the arrest…

    Meghan March Ruthless Magic

Ruthless King by Meghan March My rating: 5 of 5 stars Thank you, Meghan March for creating story magic with the Ruthless series. Mount, the bad ass kingpin of New Orleans, launched a hostile takeover of an assertive businesswoman, Kiera, whose dead husband left her in debt to Mount to the tune of a half million dollars. She’s fighting him tooth and nail but he has her over a barrel, threatening to hurt her family and friends if she doesn’t submit willingly. Kiera has chinks in her armor, naivete, pride, and family loyalty, that are endearing. Mount softens a bit against her outraged fits and uncharacteristically tolerates a lot of…

Anita Gray Blair, an innocent assassin

Blaire by Anita Gray My rating: 5 of 5 stars Blaire was a gripping story of a young girl trained to be an assassin. She maintains a rare innocence borne of being sheltered from normal life and not without naivete. Blaire is surrounded by brutality but manages to be the blossom in the flames, and hopefully, she will end up as the rose amongst the ashes. It’s very brutal and dark. Maybe the author was been a bit trigger-happy? View all my reviews
